On Truth

“There is nothing so powerful as truth—and often nothing so strange.”
– Daniel Webster
People have been manipulating the truth throughout the ages. In the present day, this manipulation is simply a way to move around the difficult decisions one must make in life to live it the way God intended us to live it. A justification of bad choices.
The idea of “my truth” v. “the truth” makes for a confusing and stressful existence. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, and I noticed even in modern secular culture the message is loud and clear. Which is why I chose Webster, and this: A line from the acclaimed David Mamet play; Glengarry Glen Ross, with sales as a backdrop, truth is also about ethics and everyone’s idea of what that means. He sums it up for us at the end; “tell the truth, it’s easiest to remember”.
