On Sacrifice

Halo Hippo (1)

Be devoted to one another in love.

Honor one another above yourselves.

~Romans 12:10

I have been thinking about sacrifice during this Lenten season. Both within the teachings and the wisdom of my faith, and also in life.  This is a state of being (and behaving), much like ethics, has as many measurements as there are people.  One’s sacrifice is another’s daily routine.

For me, it’s not just about giving up something, it’s also about accepting something, or someone, into your life over anything you desire. It’s adding to your life, not removing from it.

How do you measure sacrifice? When present, how do you embrace it?

Happy Easter!
