5) Judgement
The Nine
Powered By Storytelling

This book is one of my favorites. We, as human beings, are awesome at making judgements about situations, people, places, cultures, careers, well, just about anything we can think of that will help us make a decision. Because we are so good at making judgements prior to actually knowing what’s going to happen, this can cause us to make poor decisions, or safe decisions. Decisions that hold us back from moving to the next level of what we want for ourselves. Judgement also hampers. The stories we tell about ourselves and our experiences set the stage for moving forward; being too judgemental can severely hamper both the listening and sharing (telling) positions in our exchanges with others.
So what’s the answer? Extend and expand your curiosity! Often easier said than done, curiosity is a huge and powerful resource that we coaches leverage when exploring what’s possible for our clients. So, why not tap into it yourself? Whether with a prospective client or valued family member or friend, curiosity is the answer to overcoming judgement and opening the door to powerful relationships and experiences from both the listening and sharing positions of an exchange and connection with others.
Be big. Be cool. Be hippo.
